These fun and functional tile coasters can be made to suit anyone on your list. Customize these with patterned scrapbook paper or use photos for a more personal gift.
For tile coasters you will need:
1. 4×4 white ceramic tile (4 per set)
2. Scrapbook paper or printed photos
3. Modge podge
4. Clear acrylic spray
5. Felt
6. Hot glue
STEP ONE: Cut the paper or photos down to 4″x4″. At this size there will be a small white border around the paper. Tip: Try rounding the corners with a corner round punch.
STEP TWO: Paint the tile with an even coat of modge podge and adhere your paper. Use an old gift card to smooth out any wrinkles or air bubbles.
STEP THREE: Once the tiles have dried take them outside and coat them with the clear acrylic spray. Apply 3 or 4 coats, allow for drying time between each coat.
STEP FOUR: Hot glue 4″x4″ squares of felt to the bottom of the tile. Tip: You can buy felt pads made for furniture feet that will work just as well and save some time.
Tie them up in some yarn, attach a cute gift tag and you’re done!
